Live Assistant Operator Location: Stamford, CT Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Encompass is a global technology services company focused on supporting broadcast, cable and digital leaders. Job Description Live Assistant Operator will be responsible for providing essential support during live program. Working in conjunction with network operations and client. • Assist in Live Control environment during live and non-live events • Supports the Live Master Control Operator and Supervisor in the fulfillment of the broadcast requirements • Monitoring of on-air networks and signals • Responsible for program/commercial content ingesting • Coordinate activities between Broadcast Operations and Live Event site during live broadcast • Interact with the automation software, making changes to the on air schedule when necessary to ensure continuity in the on-air product. • Perform daily checks to ensure accuracy of data input into traffic system • Maintaining tape and file library • Ensure accurate program timings on logs • Working with broadcast logs for getting in/out of live events to keep Network on time. • Dubbing, cloning, and labeling incoming feed request. • Entering and ingesting arriving media in Traffic Management system & Broadcast logs. • Viewing and rating on provided quality control document of all incoming programs. • Record and playback of satellite feeds. • Other duties as assigned Requirements • Must be flexible with hours due to the operational needs of the business • Must have a minimum of three years' experience in the broadcasting industry • Individual must be able to work under pressure and meet strict job deadlines • Must have a good working knowledge of computers and software systems • Ability to work with short deadlines • Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple events simultaneously • Must be able to work within the team concept • Must have reliable transportation • Ability to work a flexible schedule: nights, weekends, holidays and over time on a rotating shift basis • Knowledge of video and audio signals • Ability to read and understand technical operations manuals • Able to operate broadcast equipment • Experience with automation systems • College degree or technical school preferred Encompass Digital Media is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
