Position Overview

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic Production Assistant to join our team at Decibel Events. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow in the live events industry while working on high-profile projects. The position is based in Washington D.C. and is open to candidates looking for either part-time or full-time employment, with the potential for freelance-to-permanent placement as well. We are in pre-production for a number of events in the DC area and Nationwide, so this is an immediate opportunity! Key Responsibilities

- Assist in meeting with clients to understand event and production needs

- Direct client interaction on elements of production (Registration, sponsorships, logistics, etc)

- Support the production team in overseeing live-event production

- Help manage customer content in advance of events and on-site

- Assist in creating and managing timelines for logistics

- Support on-site management of customer needs and expectations

- Aid in coordinating regularly scheduled calls with customers

- Help with budget development and management for each event

- Assist in tracking milestones and project deadlines

- Support sourcing of equipment and technical needs from third-party vendors

- Assist in vetting, hiring, and booking freelance technical staff

- Support the lead production team in managing onsite crew, labor, and logistics

- Based in DC, travel required for events

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- 2-4 years of experience in event production or related field

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and mac based environment

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules

- Physical ability to stand, sit, or kneel for extended periods and lift objects ranging from 10-75 lbs

- Valid driver's license and ability to travel

Desired Skills

- Experience in the live-event industry (theater, freelance production, PA, or Hill experience desired)

- Great attitude, positivity, and willingness to learn and excel

- Familiarity with event based hospitality

- Creative problem-solving abilities

- Basic graphic design skills

Compensation

- Hourly Rate: $20 - $40 per hour (depending on experience)

- Annual Salary: $41,600 - $83,200 (based on full-time employment)

Employment Type

We are looking for a full time staffer to join our team, but will consider part-time scheduled or freelance-to-fulltime depending on the candidate's availability and our current needs.
