Interested in an LMSW that might be interested in a temp to full-time position working in our clinic at 75 W. 125th Street with a hybrid schedule. We are specifically looking for a bi-lingual Spanish speaking preferred or LMSW of color to work with children and families. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a Voluntary Foster Care Agency (VFCA) Health Facility licensed pursuant to Article 29-I of NYS Public Health Law, the New LIFE Center provides highest quality limited healthrelated services to children and adolescents in foster care, ensuring their physical, mental and psychosocial well-being. The Clinician is a licensed behavioral health practitioner who is responsible for providing behavioral health services such as comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention in the community. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: •Provides Skill Building Services, including: o Establishing client treatment goals o Providing psychiatric supports o Individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, transitional counseling o Psycho-education and wellness education o Communicating with family, case planning staff and medical practitioners o Enhancing compliance with behavioral health expectations o Utilizing interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic models o Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior •Works collaboratively with State Plan Service providers, including Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment, along with Article 29 Clinic Staff. •Completes all training requirements, including Mandated Reporter training •Conducts individual psychotherapy on a regular basis and family therapy •Provides mental health referrals as needed •Attends IEP meetings and/or school related conferences. •Participates in weekly clinical team meetings to provide mental health updates as well as educational updates on children •Works in collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems and institutions to maximize scarce resources, as well as attends quarterly client service plan review meetings. •Regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all clients being served •Ensures quality assurance and excellence in service provision •Performs other duties as assigned •On call 24 hours crisis intervention for child/adolescents and foster parents SUPERVISES: •Social Work Interns EDUCATION: •Master's Degree in social work •LMSW EXPERIENCE: •Minimum of 2 years' post-masters experience working with children, families and adolescent populations •Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and treatment •Knowledge of psychotropic medications and familiarity with medication risk and side effects •Strong mental health background; proficiency in mental health diagnoses SKILLS & ABILITIES •Strong clinical skills and familiarity with CBT and TFCBT treatment •Strong communication and presentation skills; able to facilitate trainings •Strong interest in working with foster care youth and children and families at risk •Able to work independently and as part of a team •Able to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities, and allocate time and resources effectively •Able to develop and manage social work interns •Able to effectively meet and communicate face-to-face with Program stakeholders •Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life •Able to manage time effectively and determine priorities •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Electronic Medical Records •Detail oriented •Bilingual preferred LMSW will work with our youth in foster care, ages 6-21 years old, with a history of complex trauma, conducting assessments, providing individual counseling/psychotherapy to youth to include coping skills, and social & interpersonal skills. Candidate will be documenting progress notes and treatment plans. Services are provided virtually and in-person at the office depending on what benefits the client most. Attached is the JD.
