We are seeking a dedicated and experienced LMSW/LMHC Program Director to oversee a multi-disciplinary team providing mobile, community-based mental health services. The ACT team focuses on individuals with severe mental health challenges, co-occurring substance use disorders, trauma, homelessness, and justice involvement, including parole, probation, and alternative-to-incarceration participants. The role offers a balanced mix of clinical oversight and administrative management, ensuring high-quality service delivery in a flexible, responsive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Operations: Manage both clinical and administrative operations of the ACT team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Community Support Programs.
- Clinical Oversight: Conduct intake, assessments, and treatment planning; provide clinical supervision to team members.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to NYS Office of Mental Health and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene standards.
- Risk Management: Oversee incident reporting, coordinate Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) compliance, and implement risk-reduction strategies to prevent recidivism, ER visits, and hospitalizations.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct utilization reviews, supervise electronic records management, and lead service planning meetings.
- Staff Development: Train, supervise, and evaluate ACT staff, fostering core competencies and professional growth.
- Crisis Management: Provide 24-hour crisis consultation and ensure effective team response during emergencies.
- Administrative Functions: Manage timesheets, supply orders, and leave requests to ensure smooth team operations.
- Billing & Compliance: Oversee Medicaid billing and ensure compliance with documentation requirements to meet program budget targets.
- Fieldwork: The position is split 50% clinical and 50% administrative, though clinical duties are closer to 30% of the role. Clinical responsibilities include leading daily staff meetings, individual supervision, and client visits.
Qualifications:
- Education & Licensure: Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling; mandatory licensure in relevant field (unlicensed applicants will not be considered).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mental health or substance abuse treatment, with supervisory experience and preference for ACT experience.
Additional Information:
- Caseload: Shared team caseload of 68 clients.
- Direct Reports: 10-12 staff members, including Program Assistant, RN, LPN, Assistant PD, Case Managers, Peer Specialists, student interns.
- On-call: Staff alternate on-call duties, with the Program Director providing backup and support as needed.
