This position is an eight hour rotating shift that starts at $40.33 per hour.

Position Overview:

The general responsibilities for the Logistics Loading Technician Responsible to unload, load, and transfer the various products that are manufactured and used at the Dominguez plant in a manner that is safe and environmentally sound.

What you will be doing:

Material transfers can be made to or from process tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, and other specified containers. The various products include, spent sulfuric acid, fresh sulfuric acid, and aluminum sulfate.

Perform the various tasks identified in the Shipping, Loading and Unloading procedures, for example, opening valves, pressuring up tank cars, loading fresh acid, operating pumps, monitoring tank levels, inspection reports etc...

Other functions or assignments as defined by supervision to maintain efficient operation of the loading department and/or the Plant.

Be able to utilize the computer to access plant information as necessary, for example E-mail, work orders as well as use these tools to conduct your job.

Responsible for safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars and tank trucks.

Complies with all safety rules and established company polices.

Assist or direct tank truck drivers to safely load or unload materials.

Perform inspections and operate track mobile to safely move railcars within plant.

Obtain raw material tank readings.

Requires use of heavy hand tools to perform railcar work.

Minor maintenance required.

Perform tank valve line ups.

Perform inspections of tanks, trucks, railcars and other equipment.

Obtain samples from storage tanks, tank trucks, rail cars.

Maintains good employee relations and harmony among fellow workers.

Perform other duties as directed.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Ability to utilize a computer to access plant information as necessary, for example, email, SAP for work orders, Enablon, excel as well as use these tools to conduct your job.

Must be able to wear a full-face respirator.

Must be able to work shift work.

Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays as needed and a second job location in El Segundo as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of experience of loading and unloading in a chemical manufacturing setting.
