The main responsibilities of a truck loader include:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sort and stack goods onto pallets or containers to secure for transportation, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of goods
- Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company SOPs to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations
- Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified.
- Safely operate motorized equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks) to move goods
- Uphold Hawkins Incorporated's standard of excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain ISO-certified facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
- Participate in the continuous improvement process that relates to this position to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Accurately, completely fill out required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Load chemical tankers.
- Prepare hazardous materials for DOT shipment to ensure safe and timely supply of raw materials and finished products. Including the loading and unloading bulk and LTL quantities of material by truck.
- Understand equipment and process operation to test, repair, inspect and fill hazardous materials.
- Completion of HAZWOPPER training course is required. Participate in safety drills.
- Perform opening or closing duties as needed.
- Maintain/monitor plant and work area housekeeping standards.
- Participate in cycle counts, inventory discrepancies and physical inventory.
- Must be willing to flex between workstations as required and be flexible with working schedule including working weekends and extended hours as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
ABOUT YOU:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written channels.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; previous experience
- Ability to operate a manual transmission truck and/or truck trailer combination
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pulling
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and ladders
- Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves, and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when required
- Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery
