Title of Position: Loader Operator/Groundsperson at sand mineLocation: West Creek, N.J.At Sahara Sand of Eagleswood, one of our sand mining sites, the Loader Operator/Groundsperson will play a key role in ensuring sand orders are loaded and delivered on time. She/he will also complete numerous tasks related to the installation, maintenance and repair of production and production-related equipment. The Operator demonstrates initiative, responsibility, has good interpersonal skills and is flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment. Additionally, we encourage Operators to participate in company paid, continuing education to stay abreast of both the technical knowledge related to their profession and to changes related to safety compliance. We offer on-the-job training, formal course work for certifications, and tuition reimbursement.Company DescriptionThrough a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Concrete has become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products in the Northeast, US. Today, the company manufactures concrete at multiple locations and supplies those plants with materials from its own mining operations and deep-water port facility.Position Essential Functions ResponsibilitiesLoads sand into haul trucks to ensure orders are delivered on time.Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctioning and takes necessary action to restore equipment to good operating order.Evaluate equipment failures for root cause, communicate findings, make suggestions for equipment improvements, and be able to install modifications as directed.Performs daily rounds checklist on operating equipment observing machine in operation and listening to sounds to detect unusual operation.Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures, recording all pertinent information.Assist with maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, pumps, gearboxes mixers, blowers, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and maintenance equipment.Lubricating, cleaning and servicing equipment.Keeps work area clean and in a safe condition.Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials and supplies.Completes work assignments in the allotted time frame.Welding experience a plus, particularly in mig, stick, and overhead.Quarry/mining experience a plus but not required.Gyratory Crusher experience a plus but not required.Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning on different types of motors/machinery.Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual.Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus but not required.Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdownMust have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.Ability to work independently.Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership to complete assignments/projects through to completion.Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.Must be able to frequently lift up to 100 lbs.Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions.QualificationsWelding experience a plus, particularly in mig, stick, and overhead.Quarry/mining experience a plus but not required.Gyratory Crusher experience a plus but not required.Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning on different types of motors/machinery.Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual.Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus but not required.Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdownMust have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.Ability to work independently.Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership to complete assignments/projects through to completion.Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.Must be able to frequently lift up to 100 lbs.Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions.BenefitsMedical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, Pension, Short and Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Competitive Pay, Training.The Silvi Group Companies do not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factors.
