Job Description :

Established Community Bank headquartered in Bibb County GA is looking to hire a Director of Loan Operations. This position will be on-site at the Corporate Office in the Macon area. The Director of Loan Operations will be responsible for ensuring the department runs efficiently provides direction, training and monitors of the bank's loan portfolio as well as ensuring timely and collaborative support for the lending, credit, and mortgage departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of loan administration department.
  • Communicates with lending staff, credit department staff, and others involved in the lending process to promote efficient and correct workflow and to establish positive working relationships.
  • Manages SBA processing and reporting for 7(a) and 504 loans. Along with 1502 reporting.
  • Responsible for overseeing the servicing of mortgage loan packages, ensuring guidelines are met and loans are closed in compliance with State, Federal, TILA and RESPA regulations. Also, responsible for ensuring compliance of mortgage loans with regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures; refining procedures as necessary.
  • Ensures loan files and credit files are complete and have proper documentation.
  • Ensures that exceptions are input on the system for all missing, incorrect, or noncompliant documents.
  • Researches and corrects problems with loans on an as needed basis.
  • Ensures that file maintenance is completed and reviewed according to Bank procedures.
  • Ensures that unposted transactions are cleared daily and assists with research required to clear these transactions.
  • Works with auditors and examiners on all loan reviews and preparing files for review, as well as working with lenders and processors to clear exceptions noted, prior to or during an audit, in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that participation loan payments and advances are handled daily.
  • Reviews all participation loan documentation. Follows up on collateral docs as needed, as well as correspondence between participating banks as needed.
  • Assists Compliance Department in writing procedures, updating forms, and implementing changes regarding compliance and documentation by working with Jack Henry and auditors as needed and required.
  • Manages Synergy for loan administration by adding and updating documents and cabinets as needed as well as overseeing the loan scanning function.
  • Ensures that HMDA information is keyed into the HMDA LAR monthly and works with the Compliance Department to ensure that the HMDA information is reported to FDIC by the deadline each year.
  • Keeps up to date on regulations and industry changes. Adheres to all State and Federal Banking Regulations, receives and researches new regulations, policies and procedures and implements them. Stays current on compliance and regulations by reading available information. Ensures necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed. Maintains internal controls to meet audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists Compliance Department in keeping CRA file compliant by providing the HMDA data as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Trains, coaches, leads, motivates, and evaluates the work of the Loan Administration Department which includes Loan Processor(s), Loan Servicing Clerk(s), & Mortgage Servicer(s).
  • Reviews and approves time sheets for payroll processing.
  • Set performance expectations, conducts performance evaluations, and provides feedback to support professional growth and development of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field required. Will accept equivalent banking industry experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of banking experience managing a Loan Administration department required.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Products is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to make decisions in line with the company's procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the applications, hardware, and software used in the Bank.
