**Job Title:** Emergency Medicine Physician **Job Specialty:** Emergency Medicine **Job Duration:** 12 months **Shift:** Variable shifts & times **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** All experience levels considered if board certified; 3+ years of ED experience required for IM/FP candidates **License:** ABEM-required **Certifications:** Intubation, central line, chest tube, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, laceration repair **Must-Have:** ABEM certification; Experience with intubation, central lines, and related procedures **Job Description:** - Increased volume has necessitated the need for an Emergency Medicine Physician. - Immediate start is required, with the position lasting until August 2025. - The schedule includes on-site work with a mix of weekends and nights; no on-call responsibilities, just standard ED shifts. - Two full shadow shifts are required for orientation, or one if there is previous relevant experience. - Approximately 30 ED treatment spaces; serving an urban, middle-class population. - Main department averages 115 patients per day; an offsite emergency department sees around 70 patients daily. - Physicians handle moderate to high acuity and complex pathologies, not low acuity at the main site. - Support staff includes adequate numbers of nurses, techs, paramedics, and security. - Emergency procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, chest tube placement, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, and laceration repair are common. - 25% daily admission rate for the main site; comprehensive consult services available typical of a level 3 trauma center.
