**Job Title:** Physician**Job Specialty:** Gastroenterology**Job Duration:** 3 months, ongoing**Shift:** Day 7 on 7 off, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (rotation of days, evenings, and weekends)**Guaranteed Hours:** Full-time, minimum of 7 days/month**Experience:** Minimum 1+ years**License:** IL License required; IMLC candidates will be reviewed**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, DEA**Must-Have:** Board Certification, COVID and Flu vaccination**Job Description:**- Responsible for providing gastroenterological care to adult patients in an inpatient setting.- Perform required procedures including esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube.- Conduct types of upper GI endoscopy: with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery), with banding of varices, and with ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic).- Involvement in PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) procedures.- Maintain and update patient records using EMR systems such as EPIC/Provation for GI Procedure documentation.- Collaborate with support staff, including Advanced Practice Providers (APP).- Participate in night call for urgent cases.- Ensure adherence to credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days.- Maintain a patient load averaging 14 cases per day, subject to variation.This position offers a dynamic rotation, allowing for a balance of professional activity and personal flexibility.
