Saginaw, Lansing, MI Requirements Sparrow Lansing Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for a Locum to Perm position. This role spans from April 2025 to July 2025 with an opportunity to transition to a permanent placement. The position also includes call coverage responsibilities. JOB DETAILS: Reason for Coverage: Provider FMLAPractice Setting: Hospital coverage with ambulatory follow-up as needed In house while performing surgery and rounding. Generally 8 hours per day. Unrestricted call for time thereafter. Schedule: Two 24 on call hour shifts with call back hours and the third day 8 hours on site for cleanup from the two on call shifts. at a Level I trauma centerCall Schedule: Call coverage when on service Call Ratio: 1:4 call rotation for departmentAverage Number of Surgical Cases Per Day HOSPITAL: 3-4Average Number of Patients Per Day OFFICE/CLINIC: n/aTrauma Level/Designation: Level IAnnual ER Volume: 112000Documentation System/EMR: EPICNumber of Operating Rooms: 20Number of Orthopedic Surgeons in Practice: 14Description of OR Staff: standard OR support to include APP first assistPatient Age Demographic: allDo You Require Fellowship Training for Pediatric Cases: No Trauma fellowship not required if demonstrated case competency for all fracture care though fellowship completion highly preferred Practice Types/Settings Required: Orthopedic Surgical Cases TRAUMA Orthopedic Surgical Cases ADULT Orthopedic Surgical Cases PEDIATRIC Orthopedic Surgical Cases GERIATRIC Hospital Office/Clinic General Orthopedics treatment of fractures dislocations amputations deformities and tumors of bones and joints: Surgical Non-Surgical Additional Procedures Required or Preferred: All trauma presentations to include pelvis acetabular and supracondylar humerus fractures. Pelvis and acetabular are required procedures. Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 45-60 days Facility Reimburse for the Following Hotel Rental Car Mileage Billed at the IRS Standard Rate Rates to submit: must be included with name clear Malpractice rate Orientation - must be 1/2 regular rate Hourly/Call Back – for any time after 6 hours while on call or 8 hours daily On Call Daily - 2 days 24-hour call - per 24 hours to include up to 6 hours of patient contactOR/floor each day during call day up to 6 hours of direct patient care includedCall Back for time spent over 6 hours at the hospital Daily rate - per day to include up to 8hours of patient contact Hourly rate for time spent over 8 hours at the Hospital Conversion rate See PD for additional information.
