Job Description :
The LOFT Program Coordinator will help Goodman Community Center deliver GCC's out-of-school time and teen employment programming for high school (and transitioning) youth. This position will require adapting planned programming to meet our vibrant youth's needs. The coordinator builds and sustains relationships with students, families, area high schools, postsecondary educational organizations and institutions, and other community partners to create opportunities for Goodman youth. These opportunities may include academic tutoring, life skills, and college preparation. RequirementsMust pass a background check (National/County Criminal, Global Watchlist, SSN Trace, Sex Offender)•Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van•Minimum 1 year working in a school time setting or with High School and/or Middle school-aged youth in program planning and environment design•Experience with youth employment curriculum•Strong organizational, facilitating, and leadership skills•Excellent written and verbal comprehension and communication•Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook•Occasional weekend and evening hours based on program needsResponsibilities•Provide and support youth through experiential learning with a strong focus on employment training.•Provide applicable learning opportunities for GCC staff focusing on youth college and career readiness.•Manage and develop partnerships with other agencies, programs, and institutions that align with GCC youth programs' mission, goals, and outcomes.•Develop longstanding mentoring relationships with youth, getting to know youth as individuals.•Create spaces where youth feel safe and comfortable asking questions and discussing their lives.•Develop relationships with youth families, communicate regularly program updates and youth progress.•Recruit youth for programming through building connections with school staff, peer recommendations, and family enrollment with a heightened focus on at-risk youth and youth from lower-income areas.•Provide youth positive behavior management, conflict resolution, and engagement opportunities.•Ensure programming meets center/contract/grant standards and requirements.•Direct volunteer staff and communicate volunteer feedback and needs to the Volunteer Manager.•Provide planning and hands-on support for GCC-wide events for cross-departmental collaboration.•Ensure equitable processes and opportunities for staff and youth throughout employment and program.•Perform other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within this position's responsibilities.•Preferred experience working with youth in an educational kitchen or culinary skill-buildingPhysical Requirements•Capable of maintaining a healthy work-life balance with a flexible and adaptable schedule.•Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.•Ability to stand, reach, and bend for the entire work schedule.•Ability to operate a computer and perform sedentary work as necessary.•Special position requirements•Serve Safe Manager Certified within 60 days of employment.Salary Description Minimum: $20.00 per hour
