Job SummaryThe Logistics Specialist is responsible to manage and coordinate the domestic or internationalmovement of assets, products, and materials upon the request of the Business Line. Theyoptimize equipment utilization, select the most cost-effective routings andMoTs and plan / bookthese shipments with approved carriers and 3PLs, comply with the selection of preferredcontracted carriers or internal fleet, and secure delivery as per the established service level.ResponsibilitiesThese responsibilities are activities that correspond to the metro stops and key processes.Plan ShipmentTender ShipmentMonitor FreightMobilize Product and MaterialManage Outbound DeliveriesCreate Intercompany Sales OrderInvoice Intercompany CustomerProcess Intercompany Credit / DebitAdditional ResponsibilitiesBe the BL's logistics focal point for their logistics movements.Validate transport requests and required delivery dates for a defined geographic region orlane(s) to achieve on-time delivery.Prepare equipment load plans per planning standard operating procedures to maximize rentaland call-out equipment utilization.Leverage planning and use rate checker tools to achieve competitive costs by applyingpreferred contracted rates.Plan effective shipment/truck routings, leverage consolidation/cargo optimization, andmaximize backload opportunities to drive down costs where possible.Monitor shipment execution, track shipment movements and manage deviations with ourlogistics suppliers while keep internal stakeholders updated.Manage weekly fixed schedules and regional milk runs.Issue work orders before each move with associated cost approvals.Identify logistics network improvement projects or opportunities.Ensure full compliance of transports with the international transport regulations.Monitor cargo moves status and performances and investigates deviations.Implement proactive and corrective measures combined with appropriate communication whenearly warning signs of deviation are detected.Assess carrier performance with respect to on-time delivery and on-time pickupDisclaimerSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
