Summary:
As a Global Air Freight Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the international transportation team, ensuring that our global air freight operations run smoothly to meet production needs. You will support facilities in North America by managing inbound and outbound shipments, facilitating communication between teams, and ensuring timely deliveries to keep the assembly lines moving. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and collaboration with various global stakeholders.
Position Contributions to Work Group:
This position directly supports global air freight operations, ensuring facilities have the necessary parts and materials to meet production requirements. By facilitating communication and operational support between North America facilities, suppliers, air forwarders, and brokers, the Global Air Freight Coordinator will contribute to the overall success of the transportation team. Your work will help maintain the smooth flow of materials to keep production running efficiently.
Typical Task Breakdown:
Daily monitoring of international air freight shipments, covering inbound and outbound logistics for North American facilities and dealers.
Track and trace requests, including handling escalations of critical shipments and providing overall network support.
Support the team in managing air freight emails, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and resolving any shipment-related issues.
Interaction with Team:
Collaboration with the control tower, material planners, facility teams, suppliers, air forwarders, brokers, and global team members to ensure smooth transportation operations.
Education & Experience Required:
2-year degree (preferred)
2-4 years of related experience
A 4-year degree is acceptable, but not necessary
Master's degree is considered overqualified
Top 3 Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams (chat and meetings)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage logistics and coordinate effectively within a team
Additional Technical Skills:
Comfortable presenting in meetings with small groups (7 or fewer people)
Familiarity with online tracking tools, such as Infor Nexus or Blue Yonder
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational skills, dependability, and flexibility
Self-motivation, problem-solving abilities
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
