Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling shipments, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth communication with customers and sales staff. This position plays a critical role in the efficient operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shipment Scheduling:
• Schedule shipments from the Farmingville, NY facility, including van trailers and export container shipments.
• Coordinate domestic pick-up dates and ensure timely dispatch of shipments.
• Customer Communication:
• Communicate with customers via email to request payments after proforma invoices are sent.
• Request bookings for shipments and follow up on purchase orders after sales are completed.
• Ask for and verify trucking information, including the driver's name, driver's license, and trucking company details.
• Sales Coordination:
• Work closely with the sales staff to ensure all sales information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to sales and shipments.
• Inventory Management:
• Perform inventory-related responsibilities, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of materials.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience in logistics, shipping, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with scrap metal processing or recycling industry is a plus.
