Reports to: Plant Administration Manager

Purpose of Job

The Logistics Operator plays a crucial role in the coordination and management of the movement, distribution, and storage of goods. Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways. Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule. Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low. Maintains quality throughout the logistic processes. This position ensures that the supply chain functions efficiently, from receiving and warehousing to distribution and delivery. The Logistics Operator will work closely with various departments and external partners to optimize logistics processes and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Order processing: Receive, process, and verify incoming and outgoing orders and shipments.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records all of transactions and inventory levels.
  • Ensure that all received items are undamaged and examined appropriately according to safety and security requirements.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages, perform regular stock checks and coordinate with the team to manage stock effectively.

Prepare and maintain reports related to inventory, shipments, and logistics performance.

  • Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and suppliers, ensure proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments, inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies and resolve issues as needed.
  • Plan and oversee logistics operations to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with various departments (production, purchasing, import/export) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Document and track all logistics activities and transactions.
  • Ensure that all necessary tracking and recording databases and records are completed accurately to comply with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently as needed.

  • Costumer Service: Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to logistics and delivery.
  • Provide accurate information regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.

Skills/Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management is advantageous.

  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good customer services skills and experience.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferably.

Certifications: Forklift certification or other relevant certifications.

  • Working Conditions: Frequent standing, walking and lifting.
  • May involve overtime, weekends or night shift
