Job Description :

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage and oversee the inbound routing and scheduling of containers from origin to warehouse for our client located in Miramar. This role requires strong communication skills, collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the freight forwarding or logistics sector and proficiency in managing logistics records using both Excel and QuickBooks.

This role is onsite only. Temp to Perm opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage routing plans for inbound shipments, ensuring efficient delivery from origin to warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling, Procurement, Production, suppliers, and freight carriers to streamline the movement of goods.
  • Evaluate and secure bookings based on optimal shipping rates and container availability.
  • Negotiate competitive trucking rates to support outbound logistics.
  • Continuously monitor bookings, adjusting container schedules to align with production timelines.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with local forwarders, trucking companies, and suppliers to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Accurately process shipping documents and maintain updated shipment logs using Excel.
  • Update QuickBooks with shipping details, including sailing and arrival dates, to support internal teams.
  • Coordinate post-arrival logistics with warehouse teams for container unloading and processing.
  • Track and manage customs duties, ensuring documentation is processed accurately and funds are available.
  • Input freight and trucking bills into QuickBooks for accurate financial tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in maintaining and updating shipment records.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar financial tracking software.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal capabilities.
  • Adaptable and capable of handling pressure in a dynamic work setting.
  • Experience managing inbound container routing, including booking amendments and schedule changes.
  • Knowledge of customs processes, documentation, and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively with warehousing and transportation teams.
