Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for management of Full-Truckload and Less-than-Truckload services as well as in depth analytical insight to measure and improve vendor service levels and relationships. Strong collaborative and communication skills are vital, as success will be achieved through and with other team members.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages carrier selection, lane assignment and routing determination
  • Drives contract negotiations using RFPs, bid packages, analysis of results, negotiations, lane recommendations and contract finalization to achieve high service levels at appropriate rates
  • Troubleshoots and resolves daily transportation issues as necessary
  • Develops reports to effectively monitor carrier performance and makes recommendations for corrective action to positively impact costs and service
  • Leads frequent business meetings with transportation vendors to review performance and identify opportunities for addition participation
  • Has a good understanding of current market trends to make informed buying decisions
  • Identifies and qualifies new carriers to be added to transportation network
  • Manages relevant systems and data to achieve accurate and timely payment to vendors
  • Manages cargo security program to ensure all freight is handled in accordance with security and food safety requirement guidelines
  • Conducts and supports multiple projects and other duties as assigned simultaneously
  • Ensures consistent and adequate plant and business unit collaboration to maintain strategic alignment
Qualifications:

Core Proficiencies and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. This means the ability to develop agendas, lead meetings as a facilitator, and document & publish critical results
  • Persuasiveness – Utilize interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance. Must have the ability to persuade stakeholders internally and suppliers externally through strong relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to easily interface with plant personnel, manage projects and drive cost and process improvement
  • Analytical Skills – Must be able to relate & compare, securing relevant information and identifying key issues. This includes seeking and organizing information, and conducting relevant data analysis
  • Financial & Qualitative Acumen – Demonstrate an understanding of the use, interpretation and impact of key quantitative and financial measures
  • Visionary – Must be able to challenge existing processes and paradigms
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while also delivering independent results and maintaining calm composure

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • B.S/B.A degree in supply chain, logistics, business or related field from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) and analytical skills
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of the organization
  • Oracle and/or SAP experience
  • Willingness to travel on occasion (approximately 15%)

Qualifications – Preferred

  • Manufacturing operations experience
  • Transportation Management System and Warehouse Management System experience

The standard compensation for this role is $69,500 - $100,400. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

Compensation Statement: The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience. Benefits Statement: Benefits include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance.
