Job Description :
The Logistics Lead plays a critical role in orchestrating and optimizing logistics operations within the assigned region, ensuring seamless coordination of various aspects such as supplier compliance, warehousing, and timely delivery of goods to designated locations. This position requires effective leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. The Logistics Lead collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, Freight Forwarders, and other relevant parties to drive operational excellence and alignment with business objectives.Responsibilities:Strategic Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics processes, aligning activities with overall business objectives.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the logistics function and implement necessary changes.
  • Evaluate and select new vendors based on performance metrics and strategic alignment.
Operational Excellence:
  • Coordinate Transport Orders (TOs) and follow up with suppliers/forwarders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor invoice queues and resolve invoices promptly to ensure timely payment.
  • Evaluate Logistics Service Provider (LSP) quotes/cost sheets to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the logistics department.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to logistics operations.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Mitigate potential risks in logistics operations and take proactive measures to address them.
Cost Optimization:
  • Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Negotiate favorable terms with logistics service providers to optimize transport costs.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with regional counterparts and internal stakeholders regarding the status of air and ocean shipments.
  • Provide stakeholders with support and updates on shipment status as required.
Team Management and Development:
  • Lead and mentor the logistics team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide necessary training and support to team members.
  • Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience within International Logistics, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Operational knowledge of ERP Systems (IFS would be an asset).
  • Understanding of FCPA, UKBA, and OFAC provisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural environment with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with an ERP system.
  • Logistics/Supply Chain education or experience.
  • Experience within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management software.
  • Experience in negotiating rates and planning and executing project shipments.
