Logistics Manager - 24 Seven Talent : Job Details

Our client is looking to bring on a contract Logistics Manager! The Logistics Manager will play a critical role in optimizing and managing the company's transportation and logistics operations. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual with a strong background in CPG logistics and supply chain management, who can bring fresh ideas to help the brand achieve its ambitious growth targets.

Type: Contract

Duration: 2-3 month project

Pay Range: $25-27/hr.

Location: Hybrid; Downtown Chicago

Hours: 40/week

Responsibilities

• Manage domestic logistics partners, including full truckload, less-than-truckload, IMDL, and small parcel.
• Work closely with Customer Supply Chain, Procurement, and international teams to provide order updates, track shipments, and report risks.
• Oversee inbound forecasting to 3PL, managing dock space and pallet capacity.
• Negotiate carrier contracts and devise cost-saving strategies, solving transportation issues creatively.
• Track and report transportation KPIs, educating teams on freight costs.
• Hold carriers to performance targets, such as on-time delivery and trailer utilization.
• Manage logistics scorecards, freight invoicing, and ERP system (NetSuite) integration.
• Oversee data auditing and develop tracking reports for cross-functional teams.
• Manage EDI updates, month-end inventory management in NetSuite, and TMS integration.

Recipe For Success

• 5+ years of logistics experience, preferably in CPG or food & beverage.
• Strong understanding of transportation and fulfillment.
• Experience with NetSuite and TMS preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; capable of building tools and reports.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, highly organized, strong communicator, and problem-solver.
• Ability to travel to visit warehouses and logistics partners as needed.
