Job Title: Logistics Manager
Department: Shipping and Receiving
Reports to: President & CEO
Supervises: Shipping/Receiving Staff, Seasonal Personnel
Job Summary:
Manage the Shipping and Receiving Department to ensure efficient operations and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate shipping/receiving staff.
- Process orders, create shipping tickets, and generate bills of lading.
- Track incoming/outgoing shipments and manage storage of materials and finished goods.
- Oversee inventory and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with customer service and production teams to meet order and delivery requirements.
- Manage warehousing needs and lift truck equipment.
- Participate in Recall, Food Defense, HACCP, Safety, and BRC teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Effective leadership and employee management.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform as a leader under high pressure.
- Excellent negotiation skills with carriers and other outside contractors.
- Working knowledge of inventory software system and excellent computer skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in refrigerated transport industry and inventory control.
