MRI Technologies, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Controlled Storage Shipping & Receiving Logistics Technician on our contract with Collins Aerospace in Houston, TX, at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The Controlled Storage Shipping & Receiving Logistics Technician shall provide shipping, receiving, and storage in support of spacesuit programs. This task will include shipping, receiving, inventory control, audit support, and minimal transportation for pick up/delivery of some materials. As a Controlled Storage Shipping and Receiving Logistics Technician you will:
- Receive, maintain, disburse, inspect, prepare, and disposition material and tooling to support production schedules and to comply with customer-owned property requirements
- Perform work from verbal and written instructions, blueprints, procedures, and methods
- Participate in developing and documenting operational methods for inventory and material handling
- Inspect and verify hardware for proper configuration on receipt and stamp parts list prior to disbursement
- Issue, control and maintain traceability for all end-assemblies, sub-assemblies, and details to meet contract and customer requirements
- Handle, segregate, label, maintain, and disburse limited-life and fracture critical material to meet customer specifications
- Perform storage, maintenance and recall of metrology-controlled equipment
- Use various computer databases and systems to maintain inventory and material handling tasks
- Investigate and resolve physical inventory and paperwork discrepancies
- Transport, dispense, and store hazardous material
- Improve processes and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision; develop solutions and follow through with implementation.
- Participate in audits
- Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean, and organized
- Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function
- Responsible for generating and providing accurate and timely property status reports and metrics for internal and external customers
- Comply with all EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory rules and requirements
Job Qualifications and Preferences:
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Previous NASA experience is preferred
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS is preferred
- Knowledge with SAP is preferred (or comparable ERP system), MS SharePoint
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must have and maintain valid driver's license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams is a plus)
- Physical inventory and material handling experience is preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels including internal & external customers
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Due to Program & Projects requirement, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a pre-employment background investigation and government background investigation required to obtain and maintain a NASA badge.
