Set Up Technician - Synerfac : Job Details

IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SET UP TECHNICIANS, PAY STARTING AT $23/hr WITH A GREAT BENEFITS PACKAGEResponsibilities:- Clean-out melt chambers, feed systems, D.P. wings, ingot can, and other furnace areas as assigned- Accept responsibility for setting up furnace chambers for production as assigned by the Lead Operator, Melt Shop Turn Foreman, or higher authority. This includes changing molds, feeders, shields, etc- Clean and maintain E.B. Furnace viewports, sample lock valves, sample taker, and swivel feed-thru equipment to minimize the possibility of leaks and failures- Learn to operate helium leak detectors and assist E.B. Furnace Operators with leak checking requirements- Learn to operate the lid cleaning backhoe- Inspect hearths, endblocks, molds, and dovetail puller assemblies regularly during clean-outs and/or after they are removed from a melting campaign- Install fittings, plugs, piping, etc. on new molds, stainless steel hoses, shields, and hearth assemblies as required to get new or repaired equipment ready for installation. Leak check as thoroughly as possible before installation- Make repairs to the vibrating feeder assembly. Replace components (i.e. tube, O-ring seals, hoses, etc.) to minimize the possibility of unscheduled failures- Clean and make repairs to condensate screens as required to meet quality standards- Recommend modifications to improve reliability and productivity of E.B. Furnaces as appropriate. - Fabricate/install modifications as authorized. Work with management to develop solutions to recurring problems. Follow solutions and modifications through to installation. Follow up to evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken.- Periodically review mechanical parts and supplies inventory levels as assigned and submit recommendations for appropriate inventory quantities.- Assist Finished Product Technicians with conditioning, packaging, clean-up, organizational and shipping requirements as assigned.- Use a cutting torch for repairs/fabrications, etc.- Weld (SMAW flat / horizontal) to perform repairs/fabrications etc.Job RequirementsRequirements: - Strong mechanical aptitude. Mechanical assembly experience highly preferred- Ability to work with heavy rigging, piping, weld and torch cut. - Forklift, crane-operating experience highly preferred.- Ability to communicate effectively.- Ability to work in confined spaces.- Ability to lift up to 35lbs- Must be able to wear a respirator.
