**Job Description:**

**Job Summary**: The Lounge Server will serve meals to guests according to established sequence of service and standards while assisting in preparing and pouring drinks for customers and servers.

**PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities:**

* Smile and make eye contact, greet and welcome and invite our guests back.

* Provide upbeat and positive friendly, excellent service to our guests.

* Anticipate the needs and wants of our guests.

* Know the restaurants food and beverage selections inside and out, including coupon and special offers.

* Has knowledge of wine and beverages, and ability to recommend and pair wines with foods.

* Present menu to diner, suggest dinner courses, appropriate wines, and answer questions regarding food preparation.

* Use product knowledge to up-sell and suggestive sell.

* Prepare drinks with proper portions and ingredients.

* Operate POS (Point of Sale) system, handling all beverage sale transactions.

* Operate liquor dispensing system as required or utilize pour measuring device.

* Accommodate guests time restrictions by giving fast and prompt service.

* Write order on check or memorize it.

* Relay order to kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and service bars.

* May garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving.

* Act as a final check of food and drink before they are served to assure quality and consistency.

* Serve guests according to established sequence of service and specified standards.

* Observe diners, respond to any additional requests and determine when meal has been completed.

* Properly clear tables of all unneeded plates and glassware (pre-bus).

* Accurately total bill and accept payment or refer guest to cashier.

* Operate a cash register, ring in proper amounts and give guests correct change.

* Account for all cash, charge and hosted sales.

* Maintain integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.

* Wipe down table and replace linens.

* Reset table in a timely manner.

* May need to sweep or use Bissel to clean floor.

* Polish silverware, stemware and plate-ware as needed to ensure the table settings are impeccable.

* Keep a neat and clean environment at all times and abides by all health codes.

* Maintain respectful control over guests at all times.

* Let management know when guests are celebrating special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).

* Assist management by informing them of guest complaints.

* Adjust customer complaints concerning service, food, and beverages as instructed.

* Keep the bar area stocked, cleaned and ready for guests at all times.

* Attend to wait staff needing service at the bar in a quick and efficient manner.

* Replenish supplies, cups, spears, napkins, and ice.

* Maintain inventory control.

* Complete any side-work, set-up or closing duties as assigned.

* Attend all meetings and training sessions as required.

* Maintain grooming and appearance according to specified grooming and appearance policies.

* Perform all other assigned duties within the scope of work.

**Job Requirements:**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

* Must be at least 18 years old.

* Ability to read, writes legibly, understand and speak English.

* Two (2) years bartending or working in the service industry.

* Knowledge of bar equipment

* Must be able to anticipate customer needs, and expectations.

* Ability to monitor guest consumption and respond according to TIPS training.

* Must be flexible with shifts and days off including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

* Must be able to handle busy periods during peak service times.

* Responsible for following established departmental procedures and all applicable laws and show responsibility by practicing methods that were taught through our TIPS program.

* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to bend, kneel and reach.

* Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time.

* Ensures accuracy when counting down cash registers.

* Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements.

* You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.

* Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.

* Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
