Touchstone Engineering Corporation is a leading commercial electrical and communications contractor and design firm, specializing in low voltage systems. We are actively seeking a skilled Low Voltage Estimator to join our growing team. As a Low Voltage Estimator, you will be responsible for producing cost estimates and bid documents for commercial construction projects, with a particular focus on low voltage systems such as structured cabling, fire alarms, security, and audio-visual installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate estimates for low voltage systems
• Identify potential conflicts, discrepancies, or missing information within bid documents
• Perform comprehensive takeoffs for estimating costs and budgets
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors, material suppliers, and subcontractors
• Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and budgets independently, from start to finish
• Create written proposals and complete bid forms for submission to clients
• Attend job site walks, pre-bid meetings, and bid review meetings as required
• Coordinate internal hand-off meetings to review project scope and expectations with project managers and field teams
• Maintain clear communication with vendors, customers, and stakeholders throughout the bidding and preconstruction phases
• Manage multiple estimates and bids simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy
• Develop high-level budgets (ROM) and cost strategies for project success
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and foster future business opportunities

Qualifications and Skills:

• 2+ years of experience as a Low Voltage Estimator, with a strong focus on low voltage systems (structured cabling, fire alarms, security, audio/visual, etc.)
• Experience with estimating software such as McCormick, Accubid, or similar tools is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Bluebeam (Revu 21) for document management and takeoffs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong understanding of project bidding, preconstruction processes, and low voltage systems
• Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills
• Ability to thoroughly review and analyze bid documents to identify key details and potential issues
• Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks
• Experience in design-build projects is a plus
• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required
