Role Description
Customized Training is seeking a qualified Low Voltage Training Instructor to lead and teach courses designed to prepare students for careers in the low-voltage cabling and limited-energy systems industry. This role involves delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, and inspiring learners to excel in the field.
This position is ideal for licensed professionals with industry expertise who want to share their knowledge and contribute to workforce development in central Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction aligned with the provided curriculum, focusing on topics such as limited-energy cabling, cable termination, network installations, wireless communications, and system maintenance.
- Foster a hands-on, interactive learning environment.
- Develop students' technical and professional skills for career success.
- Use assessment tools to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom and lab environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC®).
- (Optional) Applicants with additional experience in foundational construction topics like safety, math, hand/power tools, drawings, and materials handling may be considered for teaching these areas as well.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current journeyworker or master electrician license registered through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
- Relevant experience in low-voltage systems, cabling, or related fields.
- Familiarity with network systems, including wired and wireless technologies.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Commitment to fostering student success.
Preferred:
- Teaching or training experience in a professional or educational setting.
- Industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, NEC, CompTIA).
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- (Optional) Knowledge of construction safety, tools, and practices.
