Position descriptions are reviewed and revised to meet the changing needs of the organization.TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse- Clinical Support PartnerJOB OVERVIEW: The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direct supervision of the Birth Center Charge Nurses, Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager, will assist in providing safe and effective nursing care as assigned and qualified to perform in the Birth Center. In collaboration with staff RNs, providing direct patient care, cleaning and maintaining equipment and environment, ordering/stocking supplies in assigned areas and some patient transport are components of the position. The position requires an understanding of the Birth Center's policies and procedures, state and federal regulations and guidelines to assist with the appropriate provision of services. Specific skills also include ability to communicate with the patient, healthcare team, caregivers, families and volunteer supervision as directed by the Providers. Current Washington State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Successful completion of the pre-hire WorkSteps evaluation for LPN's.
Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
Capable of comprehending, executing, and acting within the scope of practice of the licensed practical nurse.
Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form in the English language.
Neat, well groomed and professional appearance.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
Proficient in communicating with patients/clients that are from diverse population of age, ethnic, socioeconomic, and/or are physically challenged.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, set priorities and work accurately.
Ability to communicate with provider regarding patient care plan, and request assistance as appropriate for positive patient outcomes.

Complete EOC rounding of department and treatment areas at regular intervals to check on department and equipment maintenance needs.
Responsible for checking, stocking and reporting inventory levels (including misplaced or lost items) and ordering of supplies for all clinical areas assigned, removing any outdated stock.

Participate in identifying risks within team/department and assist Charge Nurse/Manager or Director with developing strategies for emergency preparedness.
Fulfill his/her role during an emergency and continue to provide care, treatment and services to our patients during the emergency.
