LPN - URGENT HIRINGHourly Rate: $30/hr (Locals); $32/hr (Travelers)Shift Details: D/N Rotate Shift. Every other weekend. Number of open positions: 10Contract: 13 WeeksLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. He or she may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.Supervisory Responsibilities: None.Duties/Responsibilities:Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.Observes patients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.Answers patients' calls and determines how to assist them.Measures and records patients' vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions.Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheostomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.Records food and fluid intake and output.Required Skills/Abilities:General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.Excellent patient care skills.Education and Experience:Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or Associate's degree in nursing required.Current state licensure requiredMinimum 1-2 years experience acute care hospital experienceMust be able to take own assignment!Hospital experience required.Float required - If floating to ICU or ER it would be to care for M/S level patients or be helping hands.AHA. ACLS, BLS, LPN, LPN/LVN, LTCPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.May require prolonged periods of standing, moving and bending.Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.Visit our website:
