LTC Resident Assistant - MyMichigan Health : Job Details

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Recreational Therapist and/or Licensed Nursing Staff, the Resident Assistant performs customer service duties and assists in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for the residents while promoting resident comfort. The purpose of this position is to offer extended customer service while enhancing the residents rehabilitative or long-term-care experience.

(40%)* Dining and nutrition assistance.

(20%)* Resident call lights and customer service.

(30%)* Recreational Activities.

(10%)* Stocking supplies.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adheres to the abuse prevention program policies and procedures.

Does not feed residents unless they have completed the 8-hour feeding assistant course as outlines by the State of Michigan.

Does not provide direct care is not a certified nursing assistant. Seeks proper assist for duties requiring direct care or licensed nurse or therapist qualification.

Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.

Consistently works cooperatively with residents, residents representatives, facility staff and ancillary service providers.

Participates in department education as directed.
