General Construction Supervisor Job Description Construction Associate, Full time

  • Statement of the Job
  • The General Construction Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of subcontractors as well as coordinating the implementation and completion of all phases of new construction and remodeling of convenience store projects throughout all the states Huck's Market operates in. The position will require knowledge of the following: site grading, site utilities, gas installation, underground storage tank installation, gas canopies, building construction, building systems, carpentry, landscaping, erosion control, and OSHA Standards. Personnel in this department are responsible for designing, building, remodeling, and maintaining Hucks Market convenience stores.
  • The Duties and Responsibilities
    • Supervision of subcontractors
    • Coordination and implementation of all phases of new construction and remodeling of convenience store projects throughout all states Huck's Market operates in.
    • Completion of all phases of new construction and remodeling of approved projects.
    • The position will require knowledge of the following:
      • site grading, site utilities, gas installation, underground storage tank install, gas canopies, building construction, building systems, carpentry, landscaping, erosion control, and OSHA Standards
    • Personnel in this department are responsible for designing, building, remodeling, and maintaining Hucks Market convenience stores.
  • Requirements
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in a related construction field preferred.
    • Experience in reading plans and specifications preferred.
    • Knowledgeable in construction methods, materials, and regulations.
    • Ability to be flexible and work effectively and safely in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to establish working relationships with other superintendents, supervisors, designers, contractors, and inspectors.
    • Ability to create, implement, and execute plans to meet deadlines.
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret information into meaningful results.
    • Ability to provide subcontractors with timely and professional performance feedback.
    • Ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision.
    • Maintain schedule to complete projects within a deadline and budget.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
    • Possess a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
    • DOT regulated or the ability to become DOT regulated.
    • This candidate will need to be currently living or open to relocating into one of our markets.
    • Be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
    • Maintain receipts and invoices to keep track of project costs.
  • Safety
    • Ensure that ladders are properly used
    • Ensures that lifting procedures are followed per company policy
    • Reports accidents promptly to direct supervisor, store manager, and corporate office.
    • Ensures all equipment is used per safety guidelines.
    • Minimizes the presence of trip and slip hazards on the worksite.
    • Properly make awareness of potential slip and fall hazards via signage or coning area to minimize injuries.
    Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, daytime hours; This schedule does include required daily travel, but overnights may be necessary. Pay to be based on experience level.
