We are actively seeking entry level and experienced EDM, CNC mill, and waterjet operators to join and grow in the PPG organization. Machine Operators will operate various machining equipment according to written work instructions. New operators will be exposed to and trained on various machining equipment for a minimum of 90 days.

Requirements:
  • Visually inspect all parts prior to loading into the fixture
  • Load part into the appropriate fixture and machine according to written work instructions
  • Verify part is properly nested in the fixture using appropriate gauging tool(s)
  • Verify correct program is being used with written work instructions
  • Operate machinery as instructed
  • Visually inspect parts after machining
  • Gauge machined part to verify conformity to work instruction
  • Handwrite gauge and part data on the appropriate gauge data document(s)
  • Immediately report all non-conforming data to a quality representative
  • Maintain clean and organized work area

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Must be able to read and legibly write the English language
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to solve basic mathematic equations (addition, subtraction, greater than, less than)
  • Ability to identify and use basic hand tools including, but not limited to clamps, pliers, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, etc.
  • Familiarity with and ability to use or learn to use measuring tools to include: micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to be at work for each scheduled shift and arrive on time
  • Must be willing and able to complete and pass new hire drug screen

Compensation details: 14-18 Hourly Wage
