JOB TITLE: Machine OperatorPURPOSE: Operate slitting machine to cut coated paper or film products to size and specification as required, following established safety and production procedure.JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:• High school diploma or equivalent• Ability to read and write• Ability to read a ruler• Basic math skills• Basic computer skills• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and perform basic physical requirements like bend, kneel, twist, etcPRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Review work schedule and set up machine to slit paper or film according to customer requirements.• Maintain accurate records (including inputting data and updating files in the production computer system) of start-up times, down times, finished product, etc.• Complete inventory tags for finish products and work in process (WIP) tags for remaining unfinished mill stock.• Operate machine in a safe manner, making adjustments as required (tension, speed, etc.).• Monitor run for quality defect. Slab and splice as necessary to remove any defective portion from roll. Take samples at beginning and end of roll.• Package rolls as required.• Maintain housekeeping in area.• Report problems to Team Manager.
