Machine Operator - Hinds County Mississippi : Job Details

Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe following examples are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed in positions allocated to this occupational class. No attempt is made to be exhaustive; related, similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned.Operates all equipment both light and heavy duty single axle trucks, backhoe, and loaders for various daily assignments that can include brush collection, leaf collection, snow removal and hauling materials to job sites used by the utility crew.Operate turf mowing equipment and all power attachments required for park, and landscape maintenance.Perform tasks requiring physical labor often for prolonged periods under adverse weather conditionsMaintain right-of-ways and easements; duties include but are not limited to storm drain repairs, cleaning, debris removal, plant and/or prune trees, shrubbery and flowers.Install and repair street and highway signs.Repair road beds including asphalt, shoulders and storm drainage pipes.Trains other employees as assigned.Performs routine maintenance.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsA high school diploma or GED and four (2) years of related experience in the field or in a related areas.Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Testing RequiredTerms of EmploymentThis is a non-exempt position.This is an At-Will employment position.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementIt is the policy of Hinds County to ensure equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
