ISCO Industries is an end-to-end piping solutions provider that specializes in HDPE, working with leading edge technology that makes us a market leader.Position SummaryThe Machine Operator will fabricate and assemble polyethylene pipe (HDPE) to create a variety of customized structures such as; fittings, valves, T's, Y's, elbows, aqua-shields, geothermal vaults, manholes, dual containment units, pumps, gas aeration lines and similar structures that meet customer specifications by performing the following duties:* Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine the materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work* Follow quality control procedures when fabricating and assembling products per customer specifications* Maintain accurate records of materials used on ticket ; locate and pull required materials from inventory* Sustain clean work area and equipment; follow safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials for safe working conditions* Operate ISCO's fusion and fast fusion equipment, cranes, and forklifts* Utilize a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment* Perform other related duties as assignedBase Qualifications and CompetenciesEducation, Training and Experience:* High School diploma or GED* Knowledge and application of tools used in: welding, fusing, cutting, and measuring* Understanding of carpentry and hand tools* Read and comprehend safety rules, operations, maintenance, procedure manuals, and blueprints/drawings for fabrication* Understand/perform math functions of basic geometry, fractions, percentages and ratios* Interpret technical instructions in mathematical and diagram form* Proficient use of business email and basic internet usage* Required forklift certification and experience* Prior fabrication experience and fusion qualification preferredQuality & Quantity:* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; consider ways to improve and promote effectiveness of fabrication operations* Audits own work to ensure quality and accuracy; maintain attention to detail* Complete work in timely manner; works quickly, and with accuracy* Strive to increase productivityDependability:* Follow instructions, respond to management direction* Take responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments* Commit to long hours of work when necessary* Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan* Prioritizes and plans work activities to meet deadlines* Uses time efficientlySafety and Security:* Observes safety and security procedures* Reports potentially unsafe conditions* Uses equipment and materials properlyProblem Solving:* Identifies and resolves fabrication problems in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery of product to customer* Anticipates and plans for potential delays in fabrication; develops alternative solutionsTeamwork & Professionalism:* Balances team and individual responsibilities* Gives and welcomes feedback* Contributes to building a positive team spirit* Puts success of team above own interests; supports everyone's efforts to succeed* Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position* Accepts responsibility for own actionsPhysical Demands* Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force* Regularly exerting 10 pounds of force to move objects* Required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel* Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, and walking* Constant talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuityWork EnvironmentWhen on the job, the machine operator is:* Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes/airborne particles* Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extremes of cold/heat, humid conditions or work in high precarious places* The work environment exposes individual to loud noises from moving equipment and machines
