Collins Aerospace in Jacksonville FL has an onsite opening for an experienced Machine Shop Manager.

This individual will be responsible for managing the employees, machines, machining schedule, and quality overall areas controlled by machine shop personnel.

This position will be involved in all EPP (Engineered Polymer Products) - Collins Aerospace programs, and will work closely with Engineering, Production Control, EHS, Quality, and Operations. The position will require someone with a Safety First mindset. This employee will report directly to the Assistant Director of Operations.

This position is located onsite at our Blount Island location and will require some travel between our 2 Jacksonville locations, Busch Drive location and Blount Island on an as needed basis.

What You Will Do - Primary Responsibilities:

* Lead the EPP Machine Shop team with a Long-Term vision, while still managing the tactical operations daily.

* Utilize CORE (Lean) principles to drive continuous improvements and eliminate defects.

* Build a team that can support the capacity plan for the machine shop and deliver on-time.

* Manage improvements to Standard Work, and enforce the use of Standard Work.

* Set the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly rhythm of Machine Shop meetings, events, and tasks.

* Oversees the CNC programmers, machinists, and machine operators' schedule and utilization.

* Support cost estimates (labor hours/material) during the quoting process.

* Liaise with the EHS, Quality, Value Stream Leader, Operations, Production Coordinators, Contracts and Engineering for the quoting process and produce the final product.

* Drive accountability of a 10+ person multi-functional team comprised of CNC machinists, machine operators, and programmers between two sites.

* Responsible for ensuring daily production commitments are met and compliant to all policies, procedures, and work instructions.

* Prepare reports identifying key metrics for the Machine Shop operations.

* Responsible for empowering all machinists and operators to adhere to all EHS policies and identify EHS opportunities.

* Lead discussions during gemba walks to identify issues or concerns in the Machine Shop.

* Provide SME knowledge to RCCA Events and lead RCCA events.

* Ensure all Machine Shop personnel are utilizing and properly storing calibrated tools.

* Making Safety more than a priority, it is a Value at EPP.

Qualifications You Must Have:

* U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

* Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

* Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

* Must have minimum of 6 years' experience with 5 axis machine center experience.

* Must have at least 2 years of programming experience.

Preferred Qualifications We Value:

* A current transferrable US government security clearance is highly desirable.

* Prior experience in a machine shop supervisory or machine shop management role.

* Prior experience utilizing various measuring/ inspection techniques.

* Must be able to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day.

* Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort.

* Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces.

* Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh up to 16 kilograms (35 pounds) and use mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, where required.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
