Machinist - 1st Shift - Lufkin Industries : Job Details

Job Purpose:Machining Technician/CNC Operator is responsible for assembling machine components, as well as erecting, testing, teardown and shipping Pipe Machines and other equipment. Key Accountabilities:

• Follow manufacturing methods to perform normal job tasks in a safe manner under the direction of the supervisor, group leader or experienced associates in the area.
• Perform general clean up to keep work area clean and organized
• Set up, adjust and operate CNC equipment for metal cutting (turning or milling)
• Measure and install tools into equipment
• Perform self-inspection for the parts resulted from the machining operation
• Work from blueprints and process control documents
• Responsible for quality of parts produced
• Responsible for documentation and identification generated or related to production of the job
• Work within close tolerances
• Work in a safe manner

Required Education & Preferred Certifications

• 2+ years of experience in similar role

Required Knowledge / Skills

• Ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
• Ability to read drawings & perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to operate CNC equipment (turning or milling).
• Ability to use measurement instruments
• Basic computer skills
