SUMMARY: This position assists the Director of Machining in meeting team quality and delivery metrics.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers to fabricate metallic and/or nonmetallic components
- Inspect machined product during and after machining cycles in accordance with technical drawings and procedures
- Set up and operate machines on a trial/troubleshooting basis to verify accuracy of machine settings or programming
- Interpret technical drawings and verify conformance of finished parts to tolerance specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Offer continuous improvement suggestions as they pertain to safety, productivity, quality, etc.
- Clean work areas continuously and perform preventative maintenance on machine as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- State-approved apprenticeship for machinist or 2 year certificate from technical school in related field preferred.
- Ability to retrieve information and utilize basic databases & web-based programs.
- Use CAD/CAM software for fixture design and/or toolpath generation
- Assist Process Engineers and/or department Director in ordering cutting tools and/or fixture building materials
