OverviewSecond Shift begins at 3:15pm and continues until 1:15am Monday-Thursday with mandatory Overtime on 3 out of 4 Fridays, often 5 hours or 8 but sometimes all 10. - 2 or more years of experience with manual turret lathes, mills, drill presses and saws.
- Proficient use of precision measuring equipment to the hundreths of an inch and blueprint interpretation.

Position Summary Machinist follows standardized, pre-determined procedures to perform a variety of primarily manual machining and machine shop-related duties to machine a wide variety of standard and special components of average complexity which are utilized in the manufacturing of pneumatic cylinders. Work Location & Schedule: 10914 N. 2nd St, Machesney Park IL. Looking for 2nd shift only! Key Duties & Responsibilities
- This position reports to the Machinist Supervisor.
- Work from works orders, tools, prints, sketches, charts, and verbal instructions to:
- Rotate between and work at various work centers, (these may include but not limited to mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, spin riveter,etc.) on a regular basis to meet production scheduling requirements.
- Pull tooling and material for the machining / modification of component parts.
- Change over the work center involving the insertion of tooling/fixtures and making of minor adjustments.
- Process first piece through initial run, analyzing and making adjustments to tooling and operating parameters.
- Operate work centers to perform various progressive operations that may include milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, broaching, turning, spin riveting, brazing, slotting, and facing to produce stated quantities of component parts for production.
- Monitor ongoing operations through machine cycles, loading and unloading work centers as necessary.
- Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems affecting machining operations involving tooling, materials and work centers.
- Prepare the required production activity paperwork and place work in designated location.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Notify supervisory personnel of equipment and operating difficulties.
- When applicable, may load and unload miscellaneous CNC work centers as necessary and monitor operation through machine cycles.
