This site specializes in the design, manufacture and test of energetic safety systems including electronic safe, arm and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue ChipĀ® detonators and serves a variety of high-performance applications including precision munitions, tactical missiles, launch vehicles, and strategic missiles.Excelitas Miamisburg is currently looking for a Machinist that will be responsible for setting up, and operating various CNC and Manual machines, hand tools, and precision measuring devices.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for setting up, and operating various CNC and Manual machines, hand tools, and precision measuring devices;
  • Fabricate metal alloy parts, glass ceramic components that require specialized grinding, fixtures and equipment from work instructions, blueprints, and drawings;
  • Will complete standard setups and operates all standard machines, hand tools, and some of the specialized machines in the machine shop according to prescribed operations and cutting speeds. (Machine examples include lathes, surface grinders, milling machines, drill presses, and industrial sanders etc.);
  • Will make measurements using precision measuring instruments, using shop mathematics as required;
  • Fabricates hand-fits and finishes parts and equipment of limited difficulty with the use of blueprints, sketches, and other varied information;
  • Dismantles, cleans, lubricates and adjusts machine tools under supervision. Performs other duties of a similar nature and complexity as directed;
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma is required with 3-5 years of experience or equivalent working with machine tools;
  • Previous experience working with a CNC machine is desired or SMART NL1500;
  • Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing;
  • Must have excellent organizational skills;
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an 10-hour shift. Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing as much as 50 lbs;
  • Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED;
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Excelitas.
