Machinist - Atlas Copco : Job Details

Working with us means working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations.Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow.Your RoleJoin Atlas Copco as a Machinist where you will operate one or two of the following machines: CTX Gamma 2000TC, Hermle 5 axis, EZ Track Lathe, EZ Path Mill, Balancing Machines, or Spin Pit to produce part to drawing dimensions and tolerances. You will also minimize scrap by suggesting improvements to processes or foreseeing potential issues before they happen. As part of the Core Manufacturing team, you will report to the Core Manufacturing Supervisor and work with engineering and manufacturing groups. This is an on-site position located in Voorheesville, NY.

• You will follow route sheets.
• You will make own set-ups and assist others with set-ups.
• You will complete bearing modifications per drawings.
• You will work with engineering to resolve drawing vs. vendor design inconsistencies to ensure instrumentation in installed such that bearing remains fully serviceable.
• You will machine parts to drawing dimensions and perform functions in accordance with route sheets.
• You will verify completion and accuracy of parts to drawing dimensions.
• You will use a variety of measuring instruments.
• You will machine to fine finishes and close tolerances.
• You will perform shop math calculations.
• You will determine when tools need sharpening or replacement.

To succeed, you will need

• You are at least high school graduate.
• You have 3 or more years of experience in machine operations; additional relevant educations may be substituted for work experience.
• You have good mechanical aptitude and can understand shop drawings.
