Job DescriptionPAY STARTS AT $20/hour**pay will be dependent on experienceSUMMARYUnder general supervision, produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies to manufacture metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Basic interpretation of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on materials or work piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to drawing specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
  • Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials.
  • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.

  • Vocational, High School diploma, or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Able to use calipers, torque wrenches, jigs, fixtures, and other tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics
  • Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure
  • Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in 5S related performance teams.

These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTSClear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job when in the manufacturing areas. Safety toed shoes or boots (ASTM 2413-11 standard) are required.
