EDUCATION A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prefer some formal training in the same or related areas.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Be able to follow instructions as directed by the Operations Manager, and or the Engineer. Have a basic working knowledge of machine shop tools and equipment. Have a basic knowledge and ability to perform welding jobs. Have a basic knowledge of reading prints and diagrams. Be able to operate a fork lift. Be able to maintain good working relationships and coordinate effectively with other team members. Be able to maintain a clean working area. Promote good morale and motivation.PHYSICAL Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, moving around, and over obstacles. Lifting required up to 75 lbs. See to read reports, manuals, specifications, model numbers, and to complete forms. Be able to make written and oral reports.AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Machine Shop Operator derives the necessary authority from the Operations Manager and is directly responsible to the Operations Manager.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Maintain security of tools, fixtures and technical manuals.Recognize and deal with priorities on the job.Ensure jobs are completed to meet production priorities.Maintain all files and paper records.General Housekeeping in Machine Shop and Quonset Hut.Attend meetings as required.Assist others as directed by Operations Manager.Use good judgment, reasoning in investigating and solving problems.Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Operations Manager.
