These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.Job DescriptionGeneral OverviewUnder minimum supervision, produces machined parts by programming, setting up, operating and making tool adjustments on various types of CNC and manual machines. Works from drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks. Tasks and assignments tend to be general but may involve complex and/or non-routine assignments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Set up and operate all conventional machine shop equipment and CNC machines in the manufacture and repair of tooling, fixtures and products as necessary.
  • Proof all programs and make edits as required.
  • Create programs using Mastercam to manufacture fixtures, mold components, parts as needed.
  • Selects, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools or materials onto machines.
  • Communicates proactively and with purpose and professionally with production and engineering staff as needed to ensure each project is s a success.
  • Provides exceptional service to internal customers and establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of all tools and fixtures to verify conformance of finished product specifications.
  • Operate multiple machines when appropriate.
  • Meet or exceed scheduling expectations and meet customer expectations.
  • Perform deburr, painting, and other miscellaneous tasks associated with completing parts production as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Company safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain safe and clean work area/performing shop housekeeping.

Qualifications/RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) or equivalent knowledge gained through formal vocational training and 8 years of machine shop experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine shop experience with CNC and convention machines.
  • Experienced with MasterCAM and basic computer skills.
  • Prefer experience with Haas controls.
  • Ability to use shop mathematics, drawings and measuring tools.
  • Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to enter time and data into a computer system.Other Qualifications
