Monday to Friday
7:00 AM to 03:30 PM, Occasional weekends as needed, and approved
Summary:
This position is for low volume repair machining on aviation components. Proficiency in job setup and a strong ability to problem-solve is essential. As a machinist, you would be responsible for setting up and operating our Manual machines, as well as assisting with CNC machines and other jobs around the shop. Work within a team environment to improve cycle times and operational flow, as well as being part of the problem-solving process. Help develop standards related to operations, such as setup sheets, inspection sheets and training manuals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
What you'll bring:
· 2+ years experience using manual mill / lathe
· Experience with fixturing and setup
· Ability to read prints
· Full knowledge of tooling and correct applications
· Must know how to use calipers, micrometers, and other standard measuring equipment
Other Desirable Skills
· Manual Grinder experience (cylindrical and surface)
· CNC lathe/ mill experience
· Welding Experience
· Microsoft Excel / Word / Teams
· Solidworks and/ or Mastercam
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
