Machinist - Level 2 - Honeywell : Job Details

You will play a crucial role in helping to assemble equipment and machine parts in a fast-paced prototype environment. You will be helping as part of the assembly team to ensure efficient and high-quality prototype equipment. As a Machinist Level 2 here at Rocky Research, you will operate and maintain various machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders, to fabricate precision parts according to specifications. Your attention to detail and expertise in machining will contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Supervisor and you'll work out of our Huntsville, AL location.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and maintain machines, such as manual lathes, manual mills, Drill Press, and grinders, to fabricate precision parts
• Be a vital member of our equipment assembly team, performing mechanical assembly and assembly of coolant and refrigerant systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining and assembly operations
• Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.

• 3+ years of experience as a Machinist or Machinist training.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications

• Technical certification or diploma in machining or related field
• Experience with CNC machining
• Knowledge of machining principles and best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues
• Good computer skills
• Welding experience and proficiency
• Experience with mechanical assembly, experience with basic electrical assembly, experience with HVAC and Coolant systems.
