Position: Machinist/Tool DiesQualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.Salary Range: $27.88-$38.46 per hourSummary Of Job: The Machinist will analyze specifications, lay out and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter and repair tools and dies requiring skill and a basic knowledge of tooling practice and application. They will use required precision instruments for exacting measurementsResponsibilities:Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assembliesVerify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicatorsVisualize and compute dimension, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specificationsSet up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishesConduct test runs with complete tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications and adjust as necessaryWork with Production and Engineering to help set up dies and reduce set up time on production floorJob Requirements:The candidate for this position must have a high school degree and be an experienced machinist/toolmaker or possess an apprenticeship certificate/diploma, have a minimum of five plus years related experience, or have an equivalent combination of education/training and experienceMust be able to operate all tool room equipment. Wire Electric Discharging Machine (EDM) a plus. (CNC Mill and grinder machine) Ability to troubleshoot dies and equipment.Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.Occasional business travel (less than 5%) is required. Ability to follow SOP, work instructions, safety instructions and regulations, adhere to OSHA standards and requirements.Ability to gather production data, collect proper production records and setting information.Ability to operate and perform measurements on quality control equipment including collection of product QC data.
