Job Summary

Responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries as well as ensuring that mail is sorted, distributed, and processed accurately and in a timely manner. Will also be cross-trained in shipping & receiving.

Essential Functions

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to the appropriate recipients or departments.
  • Process outgoing mail and packages, including preparing labels, packaging items securely, and arranging for pick-up or delivery as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and any necessary documentation.
  • Operate postage meters, mailing machines, and other mail processing equipment accurately and safely.
  • Assist in managing and organizing mailroom supplies, such as envelopes, labels, packaging materials, and postage.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and processing registered mail, certified mail, and other special deliveries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of interoffice mail and packages.

    • Administrative/Clerical Experience 0-1 year preferred or Mail Processing Experience 0-1 year preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Familiarity with mailroom equipment, such as postage meters, mail sorting machines, and packaging materials.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and interact with employees at all levels.
    • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for tracking and recording mail operations.
    • Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights and sizes.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
