The General Clerk I is responsible for mail responsibilities for Postal Office @ RTC 7260.32 hours a week RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:Handles mail responsibilities for Postal Office @ RTC 7260.PRINCIPAL DUTIES:1. Sorts incoming mail, parcels and other materials.2. Maintains appropriate records regarding postage, registered mail, certified mail, parcels, and other mail requiring special handling.3. Maintains an inventory of supplies.4. Maintains current standards and compliance with postal regulations.5. Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe; ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.6. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:* High school diploma or equivalent required.* Must have computer experience.* Valid driver's license.CORE COMPETENCIES:* Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.* Ability to sort mail.* Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.* Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.* Ability to sort, check, and verify numbers.* Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.* Knowledge of United States Post office regulations.PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:* Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust.* Extensive physical activity.
