Postal TechRequisition IDreq32661Working TitleMailing, Shipping & Receiving: Postal TechPosition Grade05Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University.It is the responsibility of the Controller's Office aka Financial Services to ensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federal audit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices. Additionally, the Controller's Office oversees the maintenance of the official financial records of the University.Within Financial Services is the Mailing, Shipping & Receiving department which is the mail and package processing facility for the University of New Mexico. The department is seeking a hardworking, dependable individual to join the team as a Postal Tech, which receives, sorts, and delivers USPS, UPS, FedEx, and campus mail daily.What We're Looking for!The position requires strenuous physical activity such as; stair climbing, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds for extended periods of time (see working conditions and physical effort in the job description section).   • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must be able to work evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred QualificationsPreferences should be supported in the resume
