Primary Purpose
Responsible for collecting, sorting and delivering incoming and outgoing mail/parcels to physicians, patients and Hospital staff and assures appropriate mail handling services are accomplished.

Responsibilities:
1. Gathers parcels from the receiving dock. Transports mail and parcels to the Mail Room for appropriate handling. May collect PHHS mail from the Post Office.
2. Stamps date and time on all incoming PHHS mail. Distributes and sorts mail by PHHS departments, to include physician and COPC mail.
3. Collects, bundles, and delivers PHHS department mail, twice daily. Transports mail to the Mail Room. Delivers patients mail daily within the Hospital. Ensures all mail is delivered timely in accordance with Mail Room guidelines.
4. Weighs and affixes postage to outgoing mail/parcels. Responsible for processing special mail such as certified, registered, two-day priority, US Post Office express and insured. May wrap special packages in accordance with US Postal regulations, as needed. May sort, log and distribute incoming checks to the Business Services Representatives for processing. Ensures all processing meets regulatory requirements.
5. Maintains appropriate records regarding postage, registered mail, parcels and mail requiring special handling.
6. Maintains a positive working relationship with Hospital personnel, residents and postal customers to ensure incoming and outgoing mail/parcels are distributed and received satisfactorily.
7. Reviews unidentified mail in the Mail Room and determines appropriate distribution throughout PHHS and assures minimal delays in mail processing.
